A video of a Montreal police officer pushing a homeless man into a block of concrete has caused outrage online, with politicians and advocates calling the officer’s actions “unacceptable.”
The 17-second video posted to TikTok on Thursday showed two officers intervening to remove the man from what appeared to be a small encampment in Montreal’s Chinatown. Read More

'We need to humanize the police': Que. police association aims to improve public image with new campaign

In the face of repeated criticism against local and regional police forces, Quebec’s Police Chiefs' Association is taking on a new strategy in public outreach aimed at improving its image.
“I think there’s a lack of love by the population towards the police officers,” said the association’s director Didier Deramond.
